Hello again,

Well there's not really a lot to report. We took the bus for 120 km or so to Murchison, and then cycled from there via Westport, Greymouth, and the west coast road as far as here. The weather has turned warm again, and apart from one afternoon, where the renowned wet west coast weather decided to show us just how wet cycling in NZ can be, and another day, where the wind decided to show us that it could be against us too, if it so chose, we've made good progress.

So far, the tent has been more for show than use. We've nearly always found a motel family suite, more or less palatial, and usually very affordable.

The scenery in the rain forest down this coast is very special, and we had the most fantastic views of Mt Cook yesterday. In 2 days we should reach Wanaka when we essentially turn towards Christchurch for the journey home.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all,

Kari, Georg, and David
